How to Properly Load a Dishwasher

For those of you who want to get the most out of your dishwasher, check out these tips on how to load a dishwasher. Many of us overload them and then wonder why the dishes are getting clean . . . the trick is to properly load the machine and to know what items require special attention:

1.Things that don’t go in the dishwasher include:

Sharp knifes (dulls the blades)

Wooden anything (destroys the wood)

Delicate China (likely to break)

Non Stick Pans (can’t take the heat)

Cast Iron cookware (rust anyone?)

2. Things that go on the top shelf:

Anything plastic

Cups and glasses

Any cooking utensils that are long (don’t put them in with the cutlery).

Many dishwashers now have two compartments: one for soap and one for dish rinse. Be sure to fill each as appropriate. The dish rinse helps your dishes come out spotless! For any further questions consult with your on site maintenance staff.
